Mallorca to watch birds

In fact, Mallorca is proud to announce that it is the only island in this archipelago to find black vultures.

The mountains are usually the perfect place to observe raptors in flight. The most experienced ornithologists have an essential appointment here, that of the S’Albufera Natural Park, the largest and most important swamp in the Balearic Islands.

Despite being a short distance from very crowded areas at the tourist level, such as Can Picafort and Playa de Muro, this area is very well preserved and it contains colonies of herons and purple targüitas, in addition to being a place of passage for large numbers  of migratory birds. In this area, around 230 species of birds have been observed (80% of them registered in the Balearic Islands) and also you can enjoy a great diversity of flora and fauna.  Migration periods are especially recommended to organize a visit, as there is much more variety and surprises for the visitor.

 Do not forget your binoculars, the camera with all its equipment and (with anti-mosquito spray) you can go on an adventure.

More birds in the Center of the Gola

The Ornithological tourism center of La Gola in Mallorca is located in the Port of Pollensa, an area of wetlands created by the union of the Gotmar and Sóller torrents, what happens is that before the water reaches the sea the rivers fill their  Waters in that area creating the wetland.
