The museum of es Baluard

September is a month for strolling, for enjoying the end of summer and the beginning of autumn... and that's why a visit to a museum could be the perfect plan for these days on your holidays in Palma de Mallorca.

So, today we take a look at Es Baluard in Palma, one of the largest and best-known museums on the island. In its more than ten years of existence, it has already been able to accumulate more than 500 works of modern and contemporary art by local and international artists who have a connection, in one way or another, with Mallorca.

It is undoubtedly a privileged place, where you can find temporary and permanent exhibitions. Among the artists with works of art in Es Baluard we can find great figures, such as:

Admission is 6 euros, but if you arrive by bicycle you can pay only 2 euros. On Fridays the entrance fee is decided by the visitor (minimum payment 10 cents).

Beep, Electronic Art

At the moment you can visit a great exhibition, ideal for both children and adults. FACES is a dialogue between the museum's fixed collection and the BEEP collection of electronic art. It immerses us in proposals and works that play all the time between the real and the digital, playing with the spectator and making him/her reflect.

A dialogue worth taking into account, and which could be the prelude to a wonderful day, because the Museu d'Es Baluard can be reached on foot from our Hotel Palladium Palma, enjoying the whole tour and then taking a slightly different route to continue getting to know, step by step, this marvellous city.

After a visit to the gallery, it is advisable to go to the shop where art books and souvenirs are sold. You can also take advantage of the museum's magnificent location to have a drink in the café-restaurant and enjoy the beautiful views of the bay of Palma.
